Michael Jackson
Since MJ died I´ve been seing friends writing "R.I.P MJ" and stuff like that on their Facebook profiles and blogs and stuff. I didn´t want to do that. I wanted to think for a while and write the best MJ moment. I wanted to pick my favourite MJ track and post it here. OMG, it´s impossible. I´ve been thinking and thinking but I can´t deside. That man and the team he was working with was a bunch of genious people.
What I know is that the "Dangerous" album is my favourite album. That was easier.
Im starting a poll here. Help me choose my favourite MJ track. Im not gonna list the typical ones like Billy Jean or whatever that was important for the music history.
Here is the tracks I want you choose from.

Music and new gear.

As I have been writing earlier Im a huge Apple fan. They make nice looking gears with outstanding performance. Sometime other companies grabs that spirit and live by it. If you´re in the music business you probably know that Apogee makes top notch products and their audio interfaces (only for Mac) are famous for their high sound quality. Apogee has been every poor guys wet dream. Quality cost and not everyone can afford that, until now.
Apogee releases the "Apogee One". A simple audio interface for your macbook with a built in microphone, mic-preamp and inserts for mic or instruments. All of this with excellent sound quality for only $249 USD (2995 SEK). "Apogee One" should be out on the market in the end of July. Im gonna try to get my hands on one and give you a full review.
This is a great track that is about to get huge in the world. Remember were you heard it first.

Ice cream for an intolerant?
This has nothing to do with music but I wanted to share a funny moment.I was at the drive thru of a burger restaurant today. I ordered a MILK FREE burger as I always do since Im intolerant.
It took a long time to get the burger so after a while the guy comes to me and says:
"Sorry for the delay, can I give you ICE CREAM?"
He says that after i told him that I can´t eat milk products.
Poor guy.. He was stressed.
btw, do you like my car?

Shame On Me on radios in USA
My hard working A&R/promoter told me that Shame On Me was picked up by Sirius Radio. That is awesome news. For you guys that don´t live in the states, Sirius is one of the biggest and most influental radio brands in USA. They are broadcasted in entire America.
Make sure to buy a copy on iTunes US. Can we make it to the Billboard Charts?

Nadia Ali - Fine Print
I wrote a time ago that we were making some tracks for Nadia Ali´s album. One of them called "Fine Print" became her upcoming single. So fun! And as a icing on the cake we did a Alex Sayz remix of it too.
Anyhow, we desided that I wouldn't put the tracks up until Nadia revealed it. Unfortunaly, some of the people who got the single for promotion already put it out on youtube.
The good news is that I can put the clips here and let you listen :)
First is the original version, second the Alex Sayz remix and at last a cool interview with Nadia.
Enjoy!

What a party!

As I wrote last week we arranged a party to celebrate the release of Shame On Me in USA.

It was soooo sick. I had a blast. I've been playing for almost 15 years and I have to say this was one of those gigs you remember.
People were dancing everywhere, I had all of my friends there and all of this at my favourite club.
I hate the word "fan" so let´s say supporters... Some of my supporters drove 6 hours one way to get to the party. I hope they enjoyed their time. Let's dedicate the party to Lina, Maria and their friends that they forced to Stockholm.
And the generous owners of the nightclub, Riddar Jakob, throw a wild afterparty. Do I have to say that I wasn't at my best shape the day after. Thanks for everything Samer.
Here is some teasers. I'm waiting for some more pics. Try to put them up tomorrow.

By the way... Shame On Me is now released in USA. Support the track and buy a "copy" at iTunes.

All new website!

It´s been a long journey but it's finally finished. After over 2 months the new Alex Sayz webpage is launched. I really hope and wished that the site would be up before the release of "Shame On Me" in USA and the party on Saturday. We made it!
I put a lot of thoughts behind this site and hope you will like it. I collected the best from the past and left a lot of space for the future. You can listen to the classic Sayzsation Mixtape directly from the site and see all of my clips from youtube.
Read about me, the latest news and know what exciting things to come.
If you noticed i got a brand new logo too. Let's step it up!

Shame on Me Party

We're gonna have a big event this saturday in Stockholm celebrating the release of "Shame On Me" in USA. It's gonna be so awsome. Im looking forward to it. This time at my home club, Riddar Jakob.
"Shame On Me" is a summer anthem and I wanted the party to have the same feeling.
The dresscode is WHITE.
We're gonna have live performance, dancers and lots of surprises.
I think and hope there will be lot of people. Have a radiospot all week promoting the party.
I hope I'll see you guys there.

Kate Ryan - Babacar (Alex Sayz Remix)
It's time to announce a brand new Alex Sayz remix. This time for the mighty Kate Ryan with giant hits like Ella Elle ´la, Desenchantee, Voyage voyage and many many more.
Babacar is the follow up to the cover Ella Elle ´la. I can guess this one is going to be as big as Ella..
Since the original is a happy, poppy dance track I wanted this to have a little bit more underground sound to it. I like it myself. It work goods on the dancefloor.
Here is the Alex Sayz remix and the original mix. Enjoy and don't be afraid to leave a comment.

Gear and stuff.
A lot of people has asked me what gear I use when I produce and when I´m DJ. So for you guys I'm gonna start writing about my equipment and also try to review software, hardware and offcourse DJ gears. Sound good?
The heart of our productions is Apples fantastic DAW "Logic Studio". I just love Apple and everything they do. This is not a Apple proganda. It's just that what they do works for me.
I've been using Logic since I started producing but 2,5 years ago I got a crazy idea to work on a PC and had to choose a different DAW since Logic only works on Apple computers. So I bought Cubase and started to work. For 7 month I couldn't finish up one track! I tried and tried but it was impossible.

Then the day came that Logic released the version 8 of the software. I read about it and was sold only by the specs. So I bought a Macbook and Logic Studio and started off. Wow what a difference.
Im sure that Cubase, ProTools or whatever people use is as good as logic. You just have to try and see wich one suits you.
AND NOW IM GONNA TELL YOU A SECRET!
Everything we've done until 2 months ago was made om my small Macbook. Fascination, Shame On Me, lots of tracks that I haven't put out yet and all the remixes we've done so far.

So all you guys thinking about starting to make music but think it´s expensive, don´t wait. It´s not always about the gear. The idea and your creativity is far more important.
I know lot of great producers work on FL Studio (that people in the business used to call DAW for kids).
It´s now, 2 years later we bought a Macbook Pro for me on the road and a iMac in the studio.
Soon I will also write about the softsynths and FX we use.

Fascination reviewed!
I got a mail that Fascination been reviewed in the well known music site 365Mag.
The site is well known for its quality interviews and reviews. Paul Oakenfold wrote in an interview that whenever he gets the chanse to surf around he visits 365Mag.
Anyhow this is fantastic news. We got 9/10. That´s awesome! Here is the content.
" If you are a lover of great female vocals like I am, then Fascination by Alex Sayz will definitely fascinate you! Alex Sayz delivers a top notch quality package with this single release featuring the catchy vocals of United Kingdom's Antonia Lucas.
Eight remixes are offered with this release from TopDJ Records, a label from Sweden that Alex himself established in order to introduce a quality that says Alex Sayz. The extended and radio edit of the single have elements that are reminiscent of DJ Yahel. Such sounds in combination with a vocalist like Antonia Lucas create a true hit. The Andy Harding Remix starts out with a sound that is comparable to Robert Miles and then turns into more of an electro style. Jospac Chill Remix confirms the completeness of this single release as even a chill remix is offered.
However, the real winner from this package is the Alaa Remix because it manages to highlight, dramatize, and combine the vocals of Antonia Lucas with well fitting sound production. The Alaa Remix is a track for all DJ's out there who want a hot vocal club track out on the dance floor. I give this single a full 10 for the high quality vocals, production, and great remix selection of 8 tracks."

USA and charts and english!
I got some request to start writing the blog in english so Im gonna try to do so. Scary!
Well, some stuff I have to write in swedish if it has to do with Sweden. Or else we're going international ;)
I got some great news. My upcoming release "Shame On Me" went out on promotion last week in Sweden. I got lot of lovely mails about it. And as icing on the cake it went straight into Swedish Dance Chart at 21:st place. As the next best upcomer, fighting with a lot of great names.
So excited about it.
I've been keeping a secret for a while now. I met some great people when I was at the Miami winter conference this year and I was smart enough to give cd's to everyone I met.
Some times later I received a mail with the message:
"Hi Alex,We met at WMC when I was on the marketing panel. I just finished listening to all the cd's from that trip and sadly yours was the very last one in the bunch. But my ears certainly came to life once the music started. I think your extremely talented and love pretty much all the songs on the disc. My 2 favorites are "Shame On Me" and "Hate to Love" with Evi (who I signed in America when she was with Lasgo). Are there any plans to release these yet in America? In not, it's something I'd like to talk to you about"
We talk and we talk and there was a lot of negotiation. But finally it's done. We signed the deal yesterday and Im ready to take over the mighty USA. Feels awesome. Specially since I know the guy who signed me and what he's capable of.
